In addition to an extensive interview process, every tutor has:

• Undergone criminal background screening (meeting or exceeding state requirements for working with K-12 students)
• Earned a Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Taught formally and/or tutored writing
• Passed a scoring test to demonstrate their ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses in writing
• Passed a “feedback” test to demonstrate their ability to provide helpful explanations and suggestions to student writers
